where are all the activists?
reading the news about what is going on in this country is depressing, especially if you are reading it from an outside perspective. i hate to burst your bubble, but your local news and CNN don’t tell you the whole story. well, actually, i enjoy telling people this.
the other thing i find depressing? the number of people i associate with in real life and online that are outraged and upset by what is going on. they talk about it, they write about it…
but where is the action? what are they doing? does anyone bother to write to their representatives? do they go vote? are you doing anything?
i saw a demonstration in front of the GA capitol building one day for the rights of gay marriage. i didn’t see anything about it on the news. nothing. one little local “liberal” paper/website had a blurb on it. whoever “they” are, “they” managed to keep it out of the media.
there are two things happening, i believe:
1) liberals and democrats are all talk and no action
2) those that are taking action are being written out of the media
