thrift store bonanza

Filed under: General — ladykatza @ 11:29 pm

so, in mundane news, i cleaned my stove. this took several buckets of grease dissolving chemicals, a scouring bad, and lots of elbow grease. Uff da! its white again and has improved the look of my kitchen all around.

so now, i sit and drink my morning coffee before i start my next cleaning frenzy.

however, last night i went thrift store shopping. needed some old clothes for the purpose of shredding, i mean, for the photos (have i mentioned this makes me nervous?? a yes, what i put up with in the name of art). along the way, i found some other very nice clothes. the most notable of which was a pair of name brand jeans in perfect condition, my size, and only 9 dollars. w00t! i still managed to come out of the store with 65 dollars worth of clothing for me and the kids.

thats it for now, coffee is done and its time for more cleaning.

i go up to Pain’s house tomorrow for more photos. i’m a bit nervous. i’ve also had this horrible cold most of the week and had to go anyway because i don’t want to get written up for attendance. they’re cracking down on that again at work. i think they are looking to fire people again so they don’t have to pay so much severance during the next re-org.

i went to go see brian, dreama, and company up in gainesville this past saturday. it was good to see all of them and get to talk for a while. dreama’s new beau grilled for us. stuffed jalepenos wrapped in bacon and kabobs. YUM!! felicity was so funny, because she wanted some of the bacon. we fed it to here, but it was still spicy from the other stuff. she ate it, screamed and ran around in circles for a bit, drank some milk, and then asked for more!! they were giving me a hard time about torturing my child, and i said “well, she ASKED for it”.

i have to sit down and do more bills. uhg.. i hate that necessity. i had a few checks that were returned because the bank didn’t pay them out of my old account like they were suppose to when i had that fiasco with my lost organizer. the two stores went ahead and waved the bounced check fee for me.

daecon called, said a plane crashed on the road that goes in front of my house. what the hell? probably a small charter plane from the little airport, but still. things like that don’t happen near MY home (at least, that’s what everyone tells themselves).

this weekend is AIT and the kids will be spending the night at debbie’s. i have sunday off, so i get to sleep in with my hubby for the first time in months!! its amazing how these small things make you very happy.
